About Us

The Roscoe Head is a traditional English public house with lots of character. One of the few pubs in Liverpool and indeed Great Britain to have survived the onslaught of the super pub chains and remains unspoilt. It still manages to retain its original character, The Roscoe Head is a very special watering hostelry.

Consisting of two small rooms, a main bar and a tiny snug, conversation definitely rules at this establishment, not here will be found a jukebox or fruit machines, just good beer, traditional food and a warm welcome, all delivered by our friendly and well-trained staff.

The Roscoe Head is a town local with customers from all walks of life, the backroom debates are always entertaining whether it be politics or football on the agenda the banter is always good.

The Roscoe Head has won many awards for its beers and is the only pub in Merseyside to appear in every edition of the Good Beer Guide since first published in 1974, one of only 7 in Great Britain.

Currently managed by Carol Ross who with 30 years experience in the trade has won many awards for the quality of her beers and cellar management skills. Carol took over the running of the pub when her parents Nicky and Margaret Joyce retired and promises to keep the family tradition of producing a fine pint for many years to come.
